DON VOYAGE DISTRESS RELIFF SCHEME
The
Don Voyage distress relief scheme founded in January 2005 after the Tsunami
disaster that struck many nations taking them by surprise and causing
immense loss of lives and property is a gesture of love and caring for
fellow beings. This is a Fund that is raised to assist and support the
needy and suffering with donations made by individuals or organizations
that give not only off their abundance but also sacrificially.
The propose of this Found is not only to support victims of the Tsunami but also to support other worthy causes in the future.
As a first step the need to build a nursery and day care center has been identified and we take this opportunity to present to you a report of the proposed Project No 1.

It
has been decided by the committee to setup a Nursery and Day care
Center for Children between the ages of 3 to 5 Years of the Galle
district. The Land for the purpose has already been donated. And the funds raised initially will be utilized for constructing a building, to house 50 children. |

| THE OBJECTIVE | ||
| The objective of this project is to avail an opportunity to the children of the Tsunami affected areas to attend a Pre School in preparation of entering regular school. | ||
| MISSION | ||
To
provide the facility of Nursery and Day Care to Children between
the ages of 3-5 Years who are under privileged or orphaned as a
result of the Tsunami disaster and to release them form the traumas
and shock by engaging them in activities such as sports and team
work with children of similar age groups, and create within them
a purpose and hope in life. The beneficiaries or this scheme will be children carefully selected as the most deserving, giving priority to orphans. |

Monthly
progress reports will be made available to any donor on request.
Free transport will be offered to donor visitors from Colombo to
project site and back. The land for this project has already been donated and the next requirement is a classroom to accommodate 50 children and the estimated cost is as follows. |
